Amara Kopakova

I started out in New York - upstate, not city - a place called Ithaca.
I was a professor, a designer, responsible but not repressed.  Older than my students, but younger than all the other professors.
One day during winter break I turned to my partner, Jetsam, and said:

"I am done with this.  Let's go. Just travel."

Jetsam smiled this knowing smile of one who has traveled before and replied:

"It's about time."

We sold and gave away and donated and bartered everything we had over the long, cold upstate winter months and set out in our car (her name is Moxie) for elsewhere.

And my affair with the world began....
