Jane and I met up today and exchanged ideas and covered ground. She got to step into my work space and get a feel for how Cody and I work. We talked about displays and selling and art rotating. Everyone is getting nervous! But also very very excited. Jane took all my completed art off my hands and I feel almost relieved. Looking at all those finished pieces was always a little ego boost, but most of the time I just saw flaws and things I needed to change. It's hard to move forward and make any new stuff when I'm obsessing about all that. So I have a tidy clean area now. Hopefully this will bring great new inspiration.
Jane is going to learn the ropes of the credit card transaction dealy on the 4th and pass that knowledge onto me. Then it's work work work all this month. Unless something pops up in April, we have all month to prep for our kick off in May. We're waiting for better weather to test out layouts for the booths. But Jane's beginning to make her rounds collecting art from all of us great artists.
And more importantly we are still on the search for local WA artist who want to get involved with our growing little gallery. I have a few people I'm hassling to work with us because I believe they are incredibly talented, and I'm going to pass along some contact info for amazing art instructors I know in the area. Students create magnificent art and we would love to tap into that. A huge part of the mission of this gallery is to create opportunities and give experience to people who haven't otherwise been able to get themselves and their beauty out there.
So my current mission is to create a business card for the gallery. I'm excited. I know what Jane likes and I have a few things in my brain already. I'm so happy Cody got my project journal back to me because I need it for this one.
Keep creating guys. And please spread the word about us!
